Unread Messages

After returning from exile, God’s people had every intention of rebuilding the Temple, but over time opposition, distractions, and personal priorities pushed God’s work to the sidelines. Through the prophet Haggai, God confronts their repeated excuse: “The time has not yet come.” The issue wasn’t that they lacked time, resources, or opportunity…it was that they had chosen to prioritize their own lives over what God had called them to do. Haggai challenges them to “give careful thought” to their ways and recognize that their misplaced priorities had left them spiritually empty. When the people finally respond in obedience, God meets them not with condemnation but with a promise: “I am with you.” This message reminds us that God is not looking for obedience someday, but today.
