Broken Cisterns

Through the prophet Jeremiah, God confronts His people for abandoning the One who had faithfully rescued, led, and provided for them. Instead of looking to the Lord for life and satisfaction, they had turned to worthless substitutes that could never truly fulfill them. God describes this exchange as leaving a spring of living water to drink from broken cisterns that leak and leave people thirsty. The message reminds us that every idol ultimately disappoints because it was never designed to satisfy the deepest needs of the soul. Only God can provide the life, meaning, and fulfillment we are searching for. The invitation is simple...stop drinking from things that leak and come to Jesus, the true source of living water.
