This Is Who God Is
Read Joel 2:13
(13) Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love… Joel 2:13

Joel reminds God’s people who they’re returning to.
Gracious.
Compassionate.
Slow to anger.
Abounding in love.
That’s God’s character.
Sometimes we hesitate to come back to God because we assume He’s waiting to shame us.
But Joel reminds us that God delights in showing mercy.
He isn’t looking for reasons to push you away.
He’s looking for every opportunity to bring you home.

When I think about God, which picture comes to mind first…an angry judge or a loving Father?

Thank God today for one aspect of His character that gives you hope.

“Father, thank You that Your grace is greater than my sin and Your mercy is new every morning.”
