Don’t Just Look Sorry

Read Joel 2:13

(13) Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God… Joel 2:13

God says,

“Rend your heart and not your garments.”

In Joel’s day, tearing your clothes was an outward sign of grief.

But God knew something.

It’s possible to look broken…

…without actually being broken.

You can say the right words.

Pray the right prayers.

Even come to church.

And still never let God change your heart.

Real repentance isn’t about looking sorry.

It’s about becoming different.

Today’s Question:
Am I more concerned about looking spiritual than becoming more like Jesus?

Today’s Challenge:
Ask God to change something on the inside instead of simply helping you look better on the outside.

Today’s Prayer:

“Lord, don’t let my faith become a performance. Transform my heart from the inside out.”

Weekly Memory Verse:
“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart…” Joel 2:12
