He Knew Judas Was There

Read Luke 22:21–22

(21) But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table. (22) The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays him!” Luke 22:21–22

This may be one of the most shocking moments in the whole passage.

Jesus knows Judas will betray Him.

And He still lets him sit at the table.

He still passes him the bread.
He still passes him the cup.

That doesn’t make Judas innocent.

But it does show us something powerful about Jesus.

His love is deeper than we realize.

And His willingness to go to the cross was never accidental.

Jesus knew exactly what was coming.

And He went anyway.

For us.

Today’s Question:
Have I fully grasped how intentional Jesus’ sacrifice really was?

Today’s Challenge:
Reflect today on the fact that Jesus willingly chose the cross knowing exactly what it would cost Him.

Today’s Prayer:
“Jesus, thank You for loving me enough to willingly endure the cross for my salvation.”

Weekly Memory Verse:
“…Do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19
