Memorial Day

May 24, 2026    Matt Walls

On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus shared one final Passover meal with His disciples and transformed it into something far greater. Taking the bread and the cup, He pointed beyond Egypt’s deliverance and toward the sacrifice He was about to make on the cross. Jesus knew the betrayal, suffering, and death that awaited Him, yet He willingly gave His body and blood so that sinners could be forgiven and restored to God. Communion was given to help His followers remember not only that He died, but why His death matters. On a weekend dedicated to remembering sacrifice, we are reminded of the greatest sacrifice ever made...the One who gave His life so we could be truly free.
