Honest Questions Aren’t a Problem

Read John 20:3–7

(3) So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. (4) Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. (5) He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. (6) Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, (7) as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen.

When Mary tells Peter and John the tomb is empty, they run to see it for themselves.

They don’t immediately understand what’s happening.

They investigate.
They look carefully.
They study the scene.
They try to make sense of the evidence.

That’s important.

The disciples didn’t blindly believe the resurrection.

They looked.
They examined.
They wrestled with what they saw.

Many people still do the same thing today.

And questions aren’t the enemy of faith.

Sometimes they’re the pathway to it.

Today’s Question:
What questions about faith have I been afraid to ask?

Today’s Challenge:
Bring your honest questions to God today instead of hiding them.

Today’s Prayer:
Father, thank You that You are not threatened by my questions. Help me seek truth with an open heart.
