The Story Continues

The story began on March 17th, 2010 when the late Bobby Ferguson one of the leaders of First Baptist Kathleen reached out to Pastor Jerry, Pastor Matt, and Pastor Billy about seeing if Southside would help revive their church so they could continue to reach and impact the Kathleen community.

This was the beginning pages for the next chapter of the story God was writing at Southside. That same year on Sept 12, 2010, Southside Baptist Church launched a second campus at the existing First Baptist Kathleen property. I’m not sure anyone would’ve ever dreamed that 15 years later Southside would now have 5 campuses across Houston and Pulaski County. Not only is Southside impacting the 478 but our church continues to partner with missionaries all over the world who are sharing the Gospel and making disciples.

But God isn’t done, and the Story continues. Today God is still writing, and we continue to follow HIs lead and play a part in reaching people with the Good News of Jesus.

In this season of ministry Southside Kathleen continues to grow and the community seems to be exploding around our church. We’re currently running 3 services on Sunday mornings and are simply running out of room. We believe God is leading us to build more space so we can reach more people. As you might imagine this, this story will take faith, commitment, and sacrifice. It will take each and every one of you locking arms with us to project (vision) a reality.

As we map our course, it is our prayer that you would pray with us about how you can play a part in this amazing story God is writing. This campaign is not going to be easy, but we believe God will provide and honor our faithfulness to trust Him and advance His mission.

Enclosed are plans that are being drawn up for a new auditorium and lobby space. This new space will help us accomplish our mission statement to love God, love people, and love the world on the journey to life change. We asked that you would join us in God’s story as he writes this next chapter.
