Southside kids

Welcome to Southside Kids!

At Southside, we believe church should be the most exciting part of a kid’s week—and we’re passionate about helping every child take their next step with Jesus in a way that’s fun, safe, and unforgettable. From Babies to 5th graders, Southside Kids is designed to engage your child at their level and show them just how much God loves them.

This page is your go-to hub for everything Southside Kids across all of our campuses. You’ll find information about check-in and safety, what to expect on Sundays, and how to stay connected at your specific location. Plus, we’ve included awesome at-home resources—like worship music, Bible videos, and family activities—to help you keep the conversation going all week long.

Our Environments

NEWBORN - K5

Southside Kids Preschool is an exciting ministry for our newborn through kindergarten-aged children. Our mission in to give preschoolers a lasting impression of God.  The three basic truths we reinforce each week are God loves me, God made me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever!

1st - 3rd GRADE

The 1st through 3rd Grade Environment is the place where kids come to meet new friends and learn awesome Biblical Truths!  We believe the Bible is never boring, worship is always fun, and great leaders make all the difference with a child!

4th & 5th GRADE

In the 4th & 5th Grade Environment, our goal is to help bridge the gap between elementary school and middle school…so we combine the two environments into a preteen environment that is geared just for 4th & 5th graders!  Forming connections, diving into God’s Word, & fun and laughter are built into every Sunday!

What To Expect

On your first visit, you will be welcomed by our Greeters and Check-In team. They will walk you through each step, all the way to the location of your child’s classroom. Safety is a priority for us, so we will need you to fill out an information card on your first visit. If you would like to go ahead and print out the card, please click HERE.

Just fill it out and bring it with you to the Southside Kids check-in desk to save time in the Registration process.

Each week when you check-in, you and your child will receive a security tag to make drop-off and pick-up a safe and secure process.

Your family is important to us and we do everything we can to ensure our children’s environments are clean, safe, and secure so you, as parents, can have peace of mind. All of our Team Members go through a security process that includes a background check, an application process, as well as attending trainings to ensure they are familiar with our safety policies and procedures. We are excited to invest each week in your child and help them build relationships that point them to Christ!

FAQ

What if my child has an allergy?
On your first visit to Southside Kids, you will fill out a registration form at the Check-In Desk.  On the form, you can specify if your child has allergies or any other health concerns.  This information will be printed on the child’s tag so their teacher will be aware of the allergy or other concerns.  This information can be updated at any time by visiting the Check-In Desk.
What if my child needs me during the service?
When you register at the Check-In Desk, the cell phone number you provide will be printed on your child’s tag as their emergency number. If your child needs you during the service, we will contact you via text message at that number.

Is there a security system in place?
Yes. There are a number of safety and security measures in place to ensure a safe environment for all children. When you check in your child through our computer system each Sunday, you will receive a parent tag. Your child will also receive a tag that they will wear until pick-up. Along with other information, both tags have an identical code that auto-generates from week to week. When the service is over, you will present your parent tag in order to enter the children’s building to pick up your child. You will also turn in the tag to your child’s leader and they will match it with the corresponding code on your child’s tag in order to release the child.  The leader will keep your tag and the child’s tag.
What if I lose my parent tag?
This sometimes happens. However, children will not be released without a tag. This is to ensure the safety of all children. If you have misplaced your tag and do not have a picture of your tag you can use in its place, please visit the Check-In Desk where a team member will verify your identity and escort you to your child’s classroom.  The Coach for that area or a Staff Member will have to approve the release of your child after your identity is verified.
What if my child has special needs?
Sometimes kids need an environment that is less stimulating and more one-on-one.  At our Warner Robins campus, we have a wonderful Special Needs Ministry that is available for Elementary-aged kids during the second service.

Get Connected

Parents, it is our heart and desire as a Ministry Team to partner alongside you to help you raise your child to love and look like Jesus. Our strategy is demonstrated by the color Orange, which combines Red (the love of the home), and Yellow (the light of a Christ-centered church) to create Orange. Orange is created when the church and the home partner together to win children to Jesus and help them grow closer to Him through a relationship. We hope and pray that you will choose to use the resources below to connect with The Southside Kids ministry so we can partner with you on this parenting journey!

Parent Cue

Parent Cue is designed to help every parent make their moments matter by moving their child toward a deeper faith.  Each Monday, Parent Cue provides parents with the video, memory verse, and Bible Story your child learned about at church on Sunday so you can continue the conversation at home throughout the week.  It even provides age specific activities and devotions to do with your child, and gives parents helpful blogs, podcasts, and resources to help along the parenting journey!  Download the free app on your mobile device and check out the Parent Cue website!

Worship

Want to help your kids engage in worship each week? You can learn all the worship songs we use in our Elementary Environments by visiting the Southside Kids YouTube page!

These fun, high-energy songs are the same ones your kids sing on Sundays—so they can worship at home, in the car, or anywhere.

Social Media

We’re always sharing what’s happening in Southside Kids—fun events, helpful parenting resources, and weekly encouragement to support your family’s faith journey. Stay connected so you don’t miss out!

Baby Dedication

Baby D is an opportunity for families to dedicate their child to be raised in a home that points the child to Christ.  Offered once to twice a year at each campus, the process consists of attending a parent orientation, completing the parent prep work, and attending the Baby D celebration.

Complete the interest form and a member of our Southside Kids ministry team will contact you with details about the next scheduled Baby D on your campus!

Next Steps

Has your child been asking questions about Salvation or showing interest in getting Baptized?  We would love to walk through that process with you!  We believe Salvation is the most important decision your child will ever make, and Baptism is how God calls us to make that Salvation decision public.

Complete an interest form and we will contact you to set up a time to talk with you and your child!

Join the Team!

We believe that Southside Kids is one of the most challenging, rewarding, and necessary ministries. It is not a “babysitting service,” its an opportunity to invest in the next generation and help them to learn how to live out the principles and truths of the Bible.

Let us know you’re interested in becoming a Team Member and we’ll help you get started with volunteering!
