Somebody Has to Do Something
Read Nehemiah 2:17–18
(17) Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” (18) I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work.* Nehemiah 2:17–18

When Nehemiah hears about the broken walls, his first thought is simple:
“Somebody needs to do something.”
And eventually…
That somebody becomes him.
That’s how it usually works.
We see a need.
We notice a gap.
We recognize something isn’t right.
And our instinct is to think, “Someone should step up.”
But what if God lets you see it because He wants you to step up?

Today’s Question:
What need have I noticed that I’ve been assuming someone else will handle?
Today’s Challenge:
Instead of saying, “Someone should do something,” ask: “God, are You asking me to do something?”
Today’s Prayer:
“Lord, help me stop waiting on someone else and start responding to what You’re showing me.”
