Day 1 – Who’s in Charge?
Read Matthew 28:18
"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."
Before Jesus tells us to go anywhere, He tells us who He is. He says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Not some authority.
Not most authority.
All authority.
That means there is nowhere you will go this week where Jesus isn’t already Lord.
Work? He’s Lord there.
School? Still Lord.
The gym? The neighborhood?
Your living room when the kids’ toys are all over the floor? Still Lord.
Now, let’s be honest.
We love that Jesus has all authority when it benefits us.
We love that He has authority to forgive us.
We love that He has authority to answer our prayers.
We love that He has authority to secure our eternity.
We're just not always thrilled that He has the authority to tell us what to do.
But if Jesus really has all authority, then when He speaks, it’s not a suggestion. It’s direction.
And that should change not just how we listen, but how we live.
-
Today’s Question: Do I treat Jesus like a helpful advisor or like my rightful King?
Today’s Challenge: Before you make one decision today, whether big or small, pause and ask, “Jesus, what would obedience look like here?”
Today’s Prayer: Jesus, You have all authority. Help me trust it, submit to it, and not resist it in any way.

Weekly Memory Verse: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19
